How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. If there's one thing that Liz knows very well, it's that no matter what life deals, it does not have to go to waste! Embrace it, learn from it and move on to help others who may be stuck in a similar place. Liz was was a young person who walked into the trap of early sexual activity and a spiral of drug and alcohol addictions. Part of this journey was captured in an award winning book Girlz Just Wanna Be Loved, published in 2009. The release of this book along with studies in counselling and community welfare, attuned Liz to the exent of struggles young girls face in navigating this sexualised world.
In order to develop a broader framework grounded in current research, Liz completed Post Graduate studies [Master of Health Science (Sexual Health)] through Sydney University in 2011. Simultaneously, she developed and piloted GET A GRIP teenz™, launching it under the banner of Youth Wellbeing Project. GET A GRIP teenz™ is currently impacting youth in a dozen schools, youth organisations and churches, with plans to take it into dozens more organisations, including New Zealand.
